Long before Covered, Candice built her foundation in hospitality, spending years serving and bartending in some of New York City’s most dynamic restaurants, venues, and private events. Along the way, she learned firsthand what it means to anticipate needs, care for guests, and deliver exceptional service in fast-paced environments. That foundation eventually evolved from working on the front lines of hospitality to managing the teams, logistics, and operations behind complex, high-profile, large-scale events and experiences.
Through every chapter, one principle has remained the same: a memorable event isn't only about how it looks. It's about how it feels. For the host, for the guests, and for everyone in the room.
That hospitality-first approach, paired with Candice's natural eye for detail and thorough, hands-on style, shapes the way she approaches every event—anticipating needs, noticing the details others might miss, and making people feel genuinely cared for. From carefully reviewing plans and logistics to anticipating potential challenges before they became problems, Candice knows that seamless execution comes from being attentive to both the big picture and the smallest details.

Covered was founded by Candice Perez, an event professional with more than two decades of hospitality experience and years of hands-on event operations management across New York City. Through leadership roles with TAO Group Hospitality and Constellation Culinary Group at the New York Botanical Garden, Candice has managed the planning and execution of weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, milestone celebrations, corporate functions, and large-scale galas and special events.
Her experience spans the details guests see- and the countless ones they don't. From client and vendor coordination to timelines, floor plans, rentals, staffing, setup, logistics and on-site execution. Candice brings a thorough, attentive approach to every stage of an event. It's that behind-the-scenes expertise, paired with a genuine passion for hospitality, that sets Candice and Covered apart.
